i have winxp home on my laptop. It came factory installed with my laptop. installed a SMC wireless pc card. After installation everything worked fine. As soon as i leave the room with the router my connection randomly drops. I get full signal strenghth but it will drop me and then give me trouble re-connecting. It will tell me that there is a wireless connection available and then it won't let me connect. what's the deal?

Try looking for newer drives for the card (and maybe firmware for your WAP)

Does anyone know of a service that runs on XP BESIDES wireless configuration wizard that controls access to the wireless network? My comp connects fine to wired networks but even with different cards it still can't connect.
