Ever since we got this computer it's been a pain when it comes to networking. It seems that using the network for it is "radioactive" and it can only take so much radiation before it freezes for a couple seconds and then reboots as if we had hit the reset button. This is especially annoying since this computer is our ICS server, and a long download causes it to reboot and we have to reconnect! Also, I don't know if this is related but occasionally when the computer turns its monitor off to save energy (configured in power options), it won't come back, and the things like the num lock/caps lock won't change, but we can still use the internet over the network! Another related problem is that when we try to wake it up by moving the mouse it will sometimes just reboot on its own and not freeze. Not surpisingly this computer also has problems with auto-shutdown. This is the only computer I've had this kind of problem with. NOTE: over the years I've changed many of the components and the problem still persists. The only things that have stayed constant are the motherboard, power supply, case, and maybe a ram stick or two (the processor has changed as have many peripherals). Here is the config as it stands right now:

Gigabyte GA-6BXC motherboard BIOS Version F3
Diamond Viper V770 TNT2 32 MB AGP Vid card
Linksys LNE100TX Network card (PCB 5.1 - it has stable drivers from the chipset manufacturer, not from the Linksys)
Sound Blaster 32 ISA
Creative Modem Blaster ISA
550 MHZ P3 Slot 1
Creative Encore DXR3 DVD Decoder card
2 Hard disks: 20 Gig primary master, 500 mb secondary master, Creative Encore 12x secondary master
160 MB of ram over 3 slots (2 X 64 MB, 1 x 32 MB)
Dexxa Serial Mouse
AT Style keyboard with a converter to PS/2

This problem went away for a long time and has now returned from the grave...

This computer is using Windows ME, and I don't recall having this kind of problems when it used 98, but 98 had it's own problems.

Thanks for any ideas, this problem has stumped me for years.
