I couldn't really find the best forum for this but is seemed like it would fit under networking. What does the "pop" mean next to downloads like on download.com

POP in relation to the Internet mean Post Office Protacol. Its the protocol you use to retrieve your E-mail from your ISP using something like Outlook or Eudora. You send mail using SMTP, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol.

If thats not the answer you need to be more specific.
