Comment: I access the internet (ADSL) through a wireless network, things have been working fine until we had a problem with newdotnet and some other things that someone else got rid off but they can't remember what they were. I got the uninstaller and ran that. I have the wireless network up but I still can't get onto the internet. The machine that has the ADSL connects fine, but mine won't. Any ideas?

Reply: (edit)Do you get an IP from the wireless router? Has someone reset the username or password for the ADSL in the router? You say that the machine with the ADSL connects, so, is it sharing the internet connection, or is the ADSL connected to the router? If the machine is sharing the ADSL, then it should be passing the IP address to your machine? If that is the case, you don't need the router, but the preferred method is to connect the ADSL to the WAN port on the router, and connect each computer to a port on the router. Further information about your setup may help to clarify this problem better. Steve

Reply: (edit)Do this... Start - run - cmd ipconfig Find the default gateway address. If there is one listed, ping it. Does it respond? MCSE, MCSA Messaging, baby!
