problems with d-link wireless router

September 7, 2010 at 08:36:09
Specs: Windows XP
I have a dlink dir-615 wireless router and it constantly needs to be reset. When pc's come on, they may or may not work. Get ip conflicts intermittently as well. The firmware is current and all pc's have their most recent updates. The one and only MAC on our network has the same issues? Considering just buying a different brand of wireless router as friends swear that the problem is with dlink and more of a waist of time than anything?

Would appreciate hearing your thoughts...

ipconflicts are usually the results of mixed static and dynamic ip assignments.

Are any of the workstations set with static ips?

Routers do fail.

There are no assigned IP's on our network. Fed up with dlink because it seems I am not the only one with these issues... It's been 18 months since I bought it and it just seems to be failing? Not worth anymore effort...

I am going to try netgear next. Have had Linksys and obviously dlink.

Thanx,
