PROBLEMS INTERCONNECTING WINDOWS XP AND WINDOWS 98
Hello People:
I have a stupid problem, guys, because I´m very disapointed with the wicked programmers of Microstupid Corp. (Microsoft Stupid):

Recently, I gave a computer service to a one client, that has two computers, both installed with Windows 98 SE. One computer had been infected with more than 25 classes of spyware, leaving inoperable the computer, and both computers are connected directly by a network cable hooked in both network ports. In other words, networked, connected in a small network or home network. When I formatted the computer infected with the spyware, Windows XP didn´t recognize the network, and the other computer, neither see the other computer with Windows XP. When I click on "My Neighborhood" in Windows 98, only see the workgroup and the machine, identified as "Equipment2". But this machine can´t see the Windows XP machine. Before formatting the computer infected with the spywares, the computer was identified as "Equipment3", but I named it again with the same name, and didn´t work. I did everything: rechecked the IP address, run the net, ipconfig, winipcfg, tracert and ping MS-DOS commands and nothing. I runned the "Wizard for New Network" and nothing. I think that Windows XP Pro and Windows 98 are not compatible, because the two machines was working perfectly when both have Windows 98, but in this time, one has Windows XP and I see that XP does not collaborate with Windows 98. I did everything in Windows 98 trying to access the computer and adding the computer, but nothing, because the Help does not help.
Can one help me in this insidous problem?.
Thanks.

Well Capt. Kirk - can you ping the XP machine from Windows98?? Install the NETBEUI protocol on the Windows98 machine.

Rule #1: Good Computers don't go down.
Rule #2: There is no such thing as a good computer.
