I have 3 computers. 1 PC, 1 and 1 Imac and a Laptop
I have 2 of them connecting to a D-link DI-514 Wireless routerand the laptop using the wireless part.I also have a Vonage Linksys router connected to the Dlink router for my Vonage phone service.
I am having many problems getting my 2 PC's connected with the router. I allways have to shut off the PC's and restart them if they have been idle for more then 30 minutes to an hour, somtimes less. The Mac has no problem at all connecting to the net when it is on the router, only the PC's. I also somtimes have to restart the wireless router as well and the modem to get anything to work.
I am using Comcast HSI with a NEW Motorola modem.I have tried to call D-link tech support and they are worthless. They first tried to pass it off and said it was my computers problem, and not the router, but it ONLY happens when I have it connected to the router and my MAC works fine either way, and then trie to tell me to contact Comcast, he basicly did not want to stay on the phone to help me and I could tell just wanted to get off. And the problem is with both computers also. Comcast also is no help.
I tried changing out the DNS addresses and it still doesnt help. I walk away for like 20 minutes and I have to restart the computer.I have connected all my computers directly to the comcast modem and they work perfectly, and when I connect to the router then the problem starts. It works fine when I am using the computer but if I stop for a while it dies.
I also messed with the power settings and the settings on the NIC card for shutdown and unchecked all that stuff and it did not help, updated all the drivers , ect.
Any other ideas? I tried a microsoft router before this one buut that was junk .

Service Pack 2 includes networking fixes, so if you don't have it yet, consider getting it.
Another person recently had to download and install new firmware for his D-link wireless router before he could connect via ethernet with an XP PC. Not your problem and maybe not same router, but I'd still suggest you check for a firmware update.
