I got 5 PC's in a small network attached to a 8 port hub. Every time that I made a new cable (cat 5, RJ45) This one doesn't work at the same speed than the others. It always work and take time to open a regular page. If I bring one new cable from the store and place instead my the computer communicate perfect. If I cut the connector and place a new connector same wiring than the other the problem appear again.

What do you think that is my problem?
Could be my crimping tool?
I check very well wire by wire and they are in the same order. Everything look ok.

Please Help.

Do the 100m lights go on?
Meter the connectors for continuity.
Are the new cables in the wall next to an electrical device?
Are you tugging on or bending the made up cable?
Stranded or solid?

Have a third party make up a cable with your cable and ends. Then make up 3 more cables, one with their ends and your cable, one with your ends and their cable, and one with their crimper.
Look at the lan card connectors and hub connectors.

Seems like the problem comes from your wiring procedure.

#1 unsheild only the minimum required to split the wires and cliping the connectors.

#2 Like Ray said, test the continuity with a meter.(can be purchase at Radio XXXXX for a few $)

#3 NEVER,EVER untwist the wires inside the cable.if you do so,you'll get NEXT (Near End Cross Talk)this will degrade the cable's performance, even make it useless.

#4 has a rule of tumb,Do not try to make cable shorter than 6 feet

#5 look at the plyer's part that push the claws inside the 8 wires,is it pushing them far enought?

#6 i only make my own if they are custom size,if it's regular just purchase them, they are so cheap it does'nt worth the trouble.

Cheers!
Garreth.
