My brother reinstalled Windows XP and it has affected him going on the Internet via 1394 Net Adapter i have uninstalled it and it has done nothing it still wont connect to the internet. Me and Anthony share the internet via a router because i have a computer of my own which is what i'm writing from now it's a netgear router from the Post Office it is broadband as well..54 mbps wireless ADSL Modem Router
DG834GSP V3 SSID:-32589265
WPA -BADUVAEDCW Serial IS3278BU01515
The firewall was already put on so id say it's software.

It worked on Thursday so since he has reinstalled Windows XP it's just affected him going on the net, he used my dad's account on his PC and it worked perfectly when he used it on Thursday my dad gave him the computer in case anything happened to him, well my dad is now deceased. I have tried everything and i really don't know what else to do i'm really stuck as i'm not that good with computers really but i know a fair bit about them.

I hope you can help!
Thanks

1394 is Firewire adapter, not a usual method of getting to the internet. He probably didn't install the driver for the ethernet network adapter. Did he install all the motherboard drivers first?

Oh i see, i don't think he has installed the driver for the ethernet network. And i don't think he has put all the drivers on for the motherboard either. Would the ethernet network be on a CD?? If it's not where would it be found?

Drivers for the motherboard are either supplied with the computer or may be found at either the machine's manufacturer's site or the motherboard maker site. If the computer is a name brand (dell, hp, compaq, ibm, etc) try their site first.
