Hi iam trying to share my dsl connection between 2 computers and i ran in to a problem, when i click properties on my dsl connection and click on share this connection between other computers on the network, i get a error message like this(error 799 cannot enable shared access, ICS cannot be enabled due to an ip address conflict on the network. ICS requires the host to be configured to use 192.168.?.?, please ensure that no other client on the network is configured to use 192.168.?.?) Both systems are running windows xp home, i have a d-link DI-604 router and a speedstream dsl modem. IF this is the problem or im not dueing something right any help would be great. Thanks

If you got a CD with your router, use it, and it will set it up for you. I have A DSL router with a DSL modem and did not select share (I'm not even sure I know where to go to share the modem).

Assuming you have the modem plugged into the router and each computer plugged into the router there is no need to share the connection, that's what the router is for.
Just set each computer to get IP address automatically and the router does all the work - providing of course that it is configured correctly.
