I have two suggestions.

1. Have the site hosted by a reputable hosting company. Best.
2. Engage the services of a professional.

Hosting a website is not a job for an amateur. If no one in your organization has the knowledge to do this properly then you need the services of someone who does, not just advice from a forum. If you get this wrong, and it is all to easy to do so, your site's security will be at serious risk.

here is the exact matter :

we recently change our site's programming / know we have an online reservation system (we currently work at a hotel ) the programmer company give us our reservation system but they said that they can't connect online database with the one that resides on the Hotel's server so they suggested this plan to my superior (host a website on local server ) so that they can't reside the online database and the resevation will be ok

but I said that they program a database for online reservation and connect it to the database resides on hotels server but they didn't accept

and my superior wants me to do this ....

This is my exact prob

I'd agree with LMiller7. If you don't know how to do this then you need professional help. Either hire a consultant, and make sure that they documents everything and shows you what they are doing at every step of the process, or else get youself booked on a good course about installing and managing IIS and be prepared for a long lead time getting this up and running. If the company that is already working with you on this cannot help then find someone who can work in conjunction with, or instead of, them.

This is something that is important to your business, so you don't want a situation where the website goes down or, worse still, private information on your database is exposed to the world. The potential for financial loss and possible legal action is too great if you get something wrong.

The details of what you need to do could not possibly be covered in an Internet forum.
