98 share shared to everyone with full control?
can you browse to the 98 machine from the 95 machine?
Netbeui loaded on the 95 machine.

9x had a protocol binding issue. Make sure both have netbeui a primary protocol or just remove all others while getting things working.

Net use \\ workgroup name \ admin $
This is an incorrect command

correct command
net use z: \\computername\admin$

Did you remove all protocols but netbeui on both machines?

type the command exactly [spaces where there are space and no spaces where there are no spaces] but fill in the correct computer name.

if the computer name is My Computer for example you may have to bracket it like so "My Computer"

When you say you removed all protocols you did leave netbeui, correct?

You either set a password on your user account or you mapped a drive to the other machine and it is trying to reconnect.

make sure you have the same user account you logon the 95 box exists on the other workstation with same password on both.

It's been a long time since I networked a 95 box, but if I remember correctly, it used the hostname as the username when authenticating the mapping.
