Hi to all. I've bought 2 ZyXel 802.11 adaptors. My idea is to set a network between 2 desktop PCs using one of these in a AP mode and the other one in a Station mode. Though I followed all the manual instructions it didn't work. From the Station I can see the AP but should I ping the IPs of either the adapter or the card it shows the request timed out. Windows tool is disabled. Everything seems to be ok but eventually it doesnt work.Any ideas?

If you can see the ap then why are you trying to ping. You KNOW it works.

You have two pc's and an access point device? Or do you only have two pc's?

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

It appears these are two wireless cards and you are trying to network them peer to peer.

That right?

Usually this is called Ad-Hoc wireless.

You need to read your adapters manual for how to setup peer to peer wireless networking.

Imagine the power of knowing how to internet search

These are USB devices and acording to manual they should be set up as follows: The 1st one is attached to the PC which has wired conection to the Internet. This usb adapter is in AP mode and is in bridge to the PC's network adapter. The second one is attached to the oter one PC and should be in station infrastructure mode. That's it.
