Hello frnds,
I have 2 nic cards in different networks with different gateways in windows 2003.one network is for internet and other is for LAN which is in different network.
The problem is, cannot communicate with clients as i have two gateways for the system...
if internet gateway is removed, the communication will be ok and can't have internet
i can't remove my LAN gateway as it is must for communication with clients.
Ex: internet gateway is 192.168.1.1
LAN gateway is 192.168.30.2So is there ne way to use both gateways internet and LAN?

You need to install, if you already haven't, Routing and Remote Access. Then you can configure your routing. Routing and Remote Access is under Administrative Tools. You would want to configure your default route to the internet and then any thing trying to get to the LAN to use gateway 192.168.30.2.
The significant problems we have cannot be solved at the same level of thinking with which we created them.

"i can't remove my LAN gateway as it is must for communication with clients"
A gateway entry is a ip address of last resort. In other words if no one answers the request on this subnet shove it here to see if you can get an answer.
Understanding this, how can a server nic have a gatway entry pointing to itself?
Now think about the lan workstation. It would need a gateway entry why? Because it needs a place to shove out a unresolved request.
Make sense?
In addition to RRAS you also have to make sure the MS DNS server has the ISP's dns servers listed in the forwarders tab [not forward lookup zone]
Additionally the lan pcs have to point to the ms server for dns.
Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search
