I have 2 Pcs I want to network together with a wireless network. My pc connected to the internet is attached to a Netgear DG824M Wireless Router and broadband Modem and it can connect wirelessly to other device. It is attached and working correctly with a Squeezebox Wifi device and will connect to my lap top no problem. (this is via DHCP)
My second PC was a little too far away to use a USB aerial (I tried one and the signal link was not good). I know the location is reasonably OK as my laptop works from the same spot.
I replaced the USB aerial with a Wireless Access Point (EDIMAX 7207 APG) ... which supports DHCP and WEP. I cannot get the setting ont the EDIMAX to work and connect me to the DG824M so i can get to the internet from that PC.
My DG824M has an IP address of 192.168.0.1 and I have given the Network adapter connected to the EDIMAX device an IP address of 192.168.0.6 and the EDIMAX is set to 192.168.0.7 The subnet mask for all of these is 255.255.0.0

On the EDIMAX I have disabled DHCP, I have set the SSID and the Channel to the same as the Netgear, I have set the access to AP Bridge (the other options are AP, AP Point to Multicast and AP WDS) I am not sure which setting I should use there.

When i ping from one device to the other I can see neither.

On the EDIMAX setup I have set the default gateway as the IP address for the Netgear (not sure if this is right or not). I am not using WEP. The manual for the EDIMAX is worse than useless.

Can anyone please give me some things to try so that I can get this access point talking to the Negear device so i can get from PC 2 to the web.

I would really appreciate hep. This is the first time I have used a forum for help.
Thanks
Vincent
