Problem copying large file over network

I have a file that is about 284 megs in size. I have been trying to copy it over to my other computer through the LAN. It copies for 10 seconds, then just stops. Then I get the error message that says the network is busy, (BUT NOTHING IS GOING ON!) I can copy tons of other things, I even copied a directory that had gigabytes worth of info. Why cant I copy a simple 284 meg file?
Check available memory. 284 meg of data requires 284 meg of available ram. I think vcache is behind this problem. I run rambooster for low memory machines less than 128meg, and cacheman for higher up. (I am working to rid cacheman with vcache settings)
You could just set the vcache settings in msconfig to be System.ini Vcache (Section)
