i have a linksys printserver & a lexmark z52 printer i installed everything alright, but when i try to print to printer i get a message cant communicate with printer, ive tried different parallel port, my printserver has regular ports also, i've switched my pc to a different port, even swithced cables (from pc to printserver), no printjob & no indication that its even trying to communicate, the only thing that it could be & am not sure i assign both pc & printserver a static ip of 10.0.1.x & so forth so it can be in same network segment because the book said to set it that way since i dont have dhcp server.any ideas. oh i am using win98.

thanks

Have you tried connecting the Lexmark printer directly to the PC? If you did, was it able to print? If not, try changing the printer cable or setup the CMOS of the PC's parallel mode type to the proper mode(spp, epp/ecp). This is only to verify whether the printer is working or not.
