Hi,
I have recently set up a print server on our network. All of the LPR printer ports are working correctly however the shared printers(those connected to a workstation) will not work correctly. What we a trying to achieve is: to be able to print from the workstation that the printer is connected to through the print server then back to the printer connected to the workstation.
We are able to print to the printer from other PC's but not to its own printer through the print server. Is the spooler getting in the way?
Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Bill

What type of print server are you using? Is it a computer setup as a print server, if so what operating system? The computer that is connected to the printer, is it setup to print over the network or through the local LPT port?

I am using a computer set up as a print server. It is running WinNT 4.0 SP6A. The print server actually has over 10 LPR port printers connected to it, and they are working correctly. The printer in question is connected over the network to a Win ME LPT port. What I need to figure out is how to print from the Win ME station through the print server(over LAN) back to the printer connected to the Win ME station. Other stations can do print in such a manner but what I have found is the station sharing the printer doesn't like to print to a server then back to its shared device. It would be easy to direct jobs straight to the printer but auditing the jobs would become cumbersom.
Any help would be appreciated.
