Let me start off by saying i am not too technical :o)

I have a dell laptop and a dell printer. I want to use my laptop in a different room than the printer. I use a Sprint PCS aircard for internet service. I would like to use the internet on my laptop on the mail floor of my home and have the printer up in the office. If I need to use it, I have an old desktop computer and a Belkin router (both about 5 years old). How would I hook this up? I saw a wireless print server at Best Buy for $250, but really don't want to spend that much. Do I have options? By the way, I have no need to use the desktop, so i dont need to have internet on that computer - unless I can have it on both by using my wireless router. Thanks so much!!

Do you have a second wireless interface in your laptop? If not there is no way to do this.

In your circumstances you need to setup the wireless router as an Access Point. Just connect the printer wired to the wireless routers lan port. Then establish a wireless connection from the laptop to the router. This wireless connection should not have a gateway entry on the laptop wireless connection to the router so there is no conflict with your wireless internet connection.

You would follow the routers documentation on setting up wireless. Note that your routes ip plan can't be in the same subnet as your internet connection. Most likely getting too technical at this point :-)

Most of this make sense?

Neocon: labels others adversely. John Kerry, vietnam vet is a liberal
