I would like to take advantage of the remote printing capability which I believe is included with MS Windows. The desktop system to which the printer (Epson All-in-One) is attached is also connected to the wireless router (Buffalo WHS-54G) via a LAN cable and runs Windows XP. I believe I have already taken the necessary steps (Control Panel/Printers and Faxes) to designate the printer as “shared.”
My other desktop runs Windows 2000 (w/current service packs installed) and is connected to the wireless router via an internal wireless adapter. Reliable communication with the router has been ongoing.
However, when I click on Control Panel/Printers/Add Printer, Windows 2000 does not see the shared printer (Epson) attached to the other computer. Can anyone advise me as to whether I have neglected a step and what to do to establish a remote wireless connection to the printer?

"remote printing capability"
you mean print to a networked printer

"The desktop system to which the printer (Epson All-in-One) is attached is also connected to the wireless router (Buffalo WHS-54G) via a LAN cable and runs Windows XP."

The all-in-one has two lan connections from what you describe. Given this situation you would be advised to NOT share the printer from your pc and REMOVE the printer cable from the pc. Set it up according to the manual as a network printer.

The advantage to setting it up as a network printer is printing is not dependant on the pc connected to the printer having to be on.

But before you can do this you need to get networking working between the two pcs. Network wizard on XP is a good place to start

Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search
