Printing failure

Hello all! I have an old WinNT server that I have connected all the networked printers to. This old NT machine is connected to our new server which is XP Pro. (This XP Pro machine doesn't really act as a server though, just as a file storage machine) We have 3 printers - everyone can print to 2 of them - and recently the color printer "freaked out". I replaced the printheads and the attention light turned off. But, since then, several of the nodes on the network are unable to print to this printer (HP 2000C Professional). The document shows itself being spooled on the node that is being printed from, but does not show up on the NT machine as being spooled. So the document never makes it to the NT server (that I can see).
Most of the affected nodes are XP (Home) machines, with one still on Win98. So far I'm not finding anything in the HP manual or on their Website for this particular problem.
I'm clueless on what might have caused this problem, and even more so for a solution. If anybody has any solutions I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

FYI - I figured out that I can print if I uninstall/reinstall the printer on the XP machines. I still don't have any idea WHY this works, so again, if anybody has an explanation I'd love to hear it. So far this doesn't work on the Win98 computer. ~cindy

Sounds like the printer drivers are getting 'freaked out' is it just the 98 PC that now can't print?
