My home computer has vpn access to my work LAN. I also use 'vnc' in both directions. I'm trying to set up my work (LAN) computer (192.168.1.49) to print to a printer connected to my home computer (192.168.11.2). It prints fine at home. Both computers are XP Pro. I've named and shared my home printer (HP6p) as 'hplaserjet6p'. 'File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks' is enabled. My Windows firewall has 'File and Printer Sharing' selected as an exception. At work I've installed the printer to print to an 'HP Standard TCP/IP' port (IP_192.168.11.2\hplaserjet6p). There are separate hardware firewalls at both locations. I can ping successfully in both directions. But I can't print!! Any suggestions? Thank you.

Did you run the printer wizard and does it "see" the home printer across the TCP port you've set up?

I set up the 'local port' at work, with path 192.168.11.2\hplaserjet6p, then installed an hp6p printer onto that port. No, I can't browse and see my home computer. Thank you!
