I was wondering if someone could help me out with this issue. I recently upgraded the computer that has the network printer connected to it to windows 2000. Since the upgrade, the printer no longer connects to network automatically. When I want to print form any of the other computers on the network I first have to physically connect to that computer. Also, I have the "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" checkbox unchecked and it still prompts me for the user id and password. The other computers on the network are either Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP home edition, nonetheless they all report an error message "windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup. Try one of the following: check the printer by printing a test page, make sure the printer is turned on and online, reinstall the printer driver." I checked on all of the suggestions and the setup is the same as it was before when the computer that it is hooked up to was running Windows ME. Does anybody have an idea why this happens?
