Comment: I have a dilemna. I hope someone out there can help. I have a friend who has two notebooks with wireless cards. He gets on the internet through a nearby unsecured network in his apartment building. He wants to install a wireless print server so he can easily print from both his laptops to one printer. Problem is the print server would have to be on a different network since he doesn't have access to the router he is getting his internet access from. This means he'd have to switch from one wireless network to another everytime he wants to go from surfing the net to printing. Obviously this is impractical. Can anyone think of a way that he can surf the net and access his printer wirelessly at the same time, besides purchasing his own internet connection? For purposes of this posting I am not interested in the ethical question of whether he should be riding someone's bandwidth without their knowledge. Just want some help. Thanks! Roberta

Reply: (edit)Attach the printer to one of the laptops and share it to allow the other to access it....no separate print server is required.

Reply: (edit)I think he wants to have both be wireless. Besides, the two laptops would still have to talk to each other, tying up the wireless card. It looks like he's going to get his own DSL connection and just have one network. Another solution I thought of is to connect the printers using Bluetooth. Thanks!
