Could some one help me.i need to know about the Point 2 Point Over Ethanet Protical. as i would like to take trfic to a server from dsl/cable modem users. what hardwhere softwere setup would i need to achive this.is this the tecnology i would need to bill dsl/cable users for using a service on a server as i belive that the PPOE protocal has been designed for this perpouse.is this correct?

Not sure of what you exactly need to do!!! But PPPoE authentify users and negociate an IP with your ISP. It's mainly (or only) used for xDSL connections.

As soon as your phone line is correctly configured on the DSLAM(C/O)you just need a WInpoet or NTS pppoe package to use it.

PPPoE has absolutely nothing to do with "billing". It has been adopted by telco/dsl providers to make for a more efficient use of ip addresses.

Its hard to make anything out of your typo's, but I think you are trying to charge users for a service through a server. Is this correct? What exactly do you want to do..

install avirt gateway on pc with dsl attached. auto config no need to play with tcp/ip - easiest install i ever did. no router needed.
