Hello,
People can't access my webserver from the internet. But they can enter my FTP server. They just type ftp://[my IP] and they can see my C:\inetpub\ftproot folder. But when they access http://[my IP] they only get a "you don't have enough privelage" page.
I have a small network, one of the computer (which has the IIS webserver) uses Win XP Pro, connected directly thru the net with a cable modem.
I've tried to turn off the firewall, but people outside still can't access the webserver.
The webserver is already running (can be accessed from within my network)
Any suggestions? I think it's maybe something about the IIS setting. So I post it here.
I used the IIS that came with the XP Pro CD.
Any comments/links will be appreciated,
thank you =)

Make sure you toss a default.htm page in there somewhere, or go into the IIS setup and tell it what your main (home) page should be (e.g. welcome.htm or something like that).
If you need more help, let me know.

hi,
the index.htm is already defined
it can be accessed from within the network... just type http://ip_address or http://machine_name and they'll see the index.htm
but when ppl from outside tries, they get a "not enough privilage" page.
the FTP can be accessed from anywhere - inside or outside the network, by typing ftp://my_ip
thank you for your comment :)
oh about default/index.htm i've tried to rename them do default.asp,htm,index.asp,htm, etc :)

Go into IIS config and make sure you allow access from all ip addresses. If it is configured to allow all ip addresses, make sure the Internet Guest Account (IUSR_SERVERNAME) has READ ONLY permissions to all files that you want to be available on the outside world.
HTH, if not let me know!
