Port forwarding westell 6100 verizon dsl

OK..I HAVE AN OLDER WESTELL (6100C) AND KNOW HOW TO BRIDGE IT INTO MY LINKSYS ROUTER AND PORT FORWARDING IS FINE. I HAVE SEVERAL DOGGIE CAMS AND I USE VIEWNETCAM.COM TO VIEW. HAVE DIFFERENT HOME,DIFFERENT STATE, GOT NEW MODEM FROM VERIZON (WESTELL 6100F), HOOKED IT UP AND IT WORKS FINED RIGHT FROM THE START INCLUDING WIRELESS WHEN I CONNECTED THE LINKSYS WRT54GS AND HAVE SET THAT UP RIGHT TO PORT FORWARD WEBCAMS. THE PROBLEM IS "SOMETHING" IN THE MODEM WILL NOT OPEN THE PORT SO I CAN USE VIEWNETCAM.COM TO VIEW ON THE INTERNET. IF I USE LOCAL IP WITH PORT ASSIGNED, CAMERA WORKS FINE. WHAT IS THE "TRICK" THAT I HAVE TO DO TO THE WESTELL 6100F SETTINGS TO ADD PORT FORWARDING AND HAVE IT WORK ON THE INTERNET AND NOT JUST LOCALLY? THERE HAS TO BE INTERNAL SETTINGS THAT I CAN CHANGE IN THE MODEM THAT WILL PORT FORWARD WHAT I HAVE SETUP IN THE ROUTER THROUGH TO THE INTERNET. MODEM IS 192.168.1.1 AND ROUTER 192.168.2.1 SO NO CONFLICT THERE
