linksys wrt54gl if not mistaken
i have done many port forwarding on my friends' house and company
but at my home it does not work. i am using linksys set at 192.168.2.1
and modem ( verizion 6100f ) at 192.168.1.1
tried port forwarding on both and set my application to listen to the ports such as RDP and FTP server...
i wonder why it still does not want to port forward.is it because verizon give me "routed bridge " or something to my home network ( which is different from all other settings in my friend's place / comapny ) ?
thanks

How are these physically connected? Did you go from the verizon into the WAN or the LAN port of the linksys?
I noticed immediately you have the two devices on separate subnets. That just confuses the issue. You should stick with the same subnet.
If it were me here's how I'd have it setup:
Verizon
IP: 192.168.1.1
SM: 255.255.255.0Linksys (connected to Verizone from LAN port)
IP: 192.168.1.2
SM: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1This way, everything is on the same subnet and your port forward would flow through the Linksys instead of being stopped by it because they're on separate subnets.
