I have a computer (i call it A) that is connected through crossover cable at computer B. B gets internet from computer A which is connected through dial up. I need to open port 24000 in computer A so that computer B can transmit data through this port 24000 through internet ?

That would depend on alot of things. How are you sharing your internet connection, microsoft ICS? proxy server? What versions of windows are we talking about, 98? 2000? XP?, Server? Pro? Do you have any kind of firewall? software or hardware?
