ok, this may sound silly but this is the actual problem. I have a IIS server behind NAT and I use internet sharing to portforward all http traffic to this server. the rest of the world gets to my site perfactly but, and here is the problem, the PCs behind the NAT use the same IP as the outside users to get there (don't ask why, this was stupid planning, I agree).
if anyone encountered with a simmilar problem and got it to work I'll be more than glad to hear about it.
thanx in advance, Roy.

I wonder, if using IE for the access to the server, what would happen if you put a HOSTS file on a machine that mapped your servers public URL and its public IP address to the servers NAT assigned IP address. You could try copying C:\Windows\HOSTS.SAM to HOSTS and edit it with those two entries and give it a try.

Thank you JackG, I'm sorry but this doesn't work - the hosts file does not recognize IP as the second parameter in the table.

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host127.0.0.1 localhost
“
Any thoughts will be appreciated.
Thanx, Roy.

i have the same set up, web site inside the lan with a firewall/nat for the outside world.
i use the hosts file, works great.
hosts file entry on each of the clients
192.168.0.10 www.mywebsite.com
this points the client to the interal ip of the web server. the firewall/nat points outside users the the other "DMZ" nic in the web server.
what do you mean the hosts file does not reconigze the ip as the second param? it should be the first param?
