hi all....i generally get a generic host win 32
error when i format my PC....due to which after
sometimes i face the problem of call
drop...and to reconnect my internet i have to
restart my pc....den i found out in some forum
closing port 445 will help...as said it did but
now i m not able to share file thro LAN....can u
ppl plz help me out....

Port 445 is needed for Microsoft File and Printer sharing.
So you have to open that port for your local area network to share files and printers.

ports, by themselves, have nothing to do with dropping internet service. This is isp/modem/router/cabling/nic/configuration issues.

Post the results of an ipconfig /all for review
