How do I find the ip for the pop server - (for a fax machine that can scan & email). Trying to set up the fax machine so it can scan and email. Having trouble understanding the email set up requirements.

The pop server is assigned by your email provider. You should be able to find this info on their online support website. If you already know the server name (such as "pop.gmail.com") but need an IP address, go to a computer, open up a command prompt, and type "ping pop.gmail.com" you'll then see the IP address associated with that pop server.
Summary: I usually leave my email on the pop server. This way I can check it anywhere and not lose any email. Recently, configuration a new computer, I forgot! and the email progam retrieved the email mess...
