Reply: (edit)I haven't looked at the info on those switches and am not familiar with them but I would wager they're a low-end switch (which is to say, not an enterprise level managed switch). If this is correct, then the simple truth is, they're basically the same thing. In a case like that, I would probably base my choice on price and get the cheaper of the two.

Reply: (edit)managed gives you features like protocol control, vlans, spanning tree, etc all of which a unmanaged switch doesn't give you. You can look at individual ports to see if there are errors, great for troubleshooting network problems. Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search
