Maybe there is something I don't get because it doesn't work. How do you et up a network with 2 pc's OS xp pro netgear en-104? Sharing cable internet connection, share printer, folders, files, I'am discourage. Thanks

I'm not familiar with a netgear en-104. But if it's a highspeed internet router/hub it will likely serve up IP addressing for your clients as well as handle doing the proxy for your internet connection. You will have to read the documents on your router for instructions on how to set this all up. If it doesn't serve up your IP addressing you will have to do that yourself.

The following is a typical TCP/IP setup for a 2 PC network:

Both PC's must have unique computer names.
Both PC's must have the same workgroup name.
Both PC's must have the same subnet mask and be in the same IP address range.
example:
PC 1: 192.168.0.2
PC 2: 192.168.0.3
with both using subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway address will be the address of the router (likey that would be 192.168.0.1 as per above example).
