Hi there,
I am actually a student at a college in Florida. And I am having a problem lately that I cannot figure out,
To me, the network connection is mainly for the internet. The University has it set up so I wouldn't be able to browse other computers while on the network unless having a password.
Well, the problem just started occusring and has happened a few times since last night.
I will be surfing the net, etc, on Internet Explorer, (oh, by the way I have Windows XP)and all of a sudden my mouse and keyboard will just freeze. I think that the computer has locked up, but it really hasn't. I wait for about 10 seconds and everything is fine, EXCEPT for the fact that I no longer can access the internet, I can do anything else fine, play games, except get a connection. I waited a hour to see if the server was down, then decided to restart.
After restarting the connection was fine again, and I surfed till I went to bed, nothing happened. But then today ot happened again.
I am just wondering if you think that it is a network issue, a computer issue, or a network card issue.
I am leaning toward my card going bad, but I am not sure. Please help. Thanks.
My specs are:
MSI K7T266A motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 1600
SOundblaster Live.
Nvidia Geforce 2 MX 400 64 mg
40 gig WD 7200 Hard Drive
Netgear Ethernet card
16x Liton DVD
12x Sony CD RWFrank

In all honesty, I am not sure. I am in the process of finding out. What do you think that the problem is?
