Recently I upgraded my DSL from 1.5 mbps to 3.0 mbps and while download speeds are indeed faster there has been an unwanted side-effect: my ping times have gone up considerably. Prior to the upgrade I was getting 10ms pings to bellsouth.net (my ISP-ugh, I know.) but now I get 50ms. These increased ping times are across the board as typically the lowest ping times I now get in multiplayer games are 80-100ms as opposed to the 30-50ms I used to get. It's been a few months since I've "upgraded" my connection and this has been a consistent and persistent problem.
