Hi there,

As far as I know, you can't do this using ping.exe on it's own - you may need to find some program that will go to sleep for a set amount of time and continuallly execute a program ( in this case ping.exe ).

Maybe a better idea would be to look on the web for other versions of ping ( lots out there that offer more than just sending out the ICMP echo request packet! ) - have a look at http://download.com.com ( and yes the two .com's are correct!! ) and search there.

Let us know how you get on...
Kind regards, James.

Using Neotrace from neoworx.com you can do this. Not only does it trace IPs but you can set it to ping every X units of time. They used to have a trial version available from the webpage. If that is still there, you can give it a try.

You could also simply write a batch file to ping the node, and then use 'Task Scheduler' to run it as often and repeatedly as you want...

Look for a progam called servers alive.

Used monitour what systems are up and runing.

I use it at home and if a server goes down at work It will sound a alarm. (next thing I know I am omw to work.)
