Ping Command File

Specs: XP, 2GB

Does anyone here no how to set up a Ping command to ping a file with a list of host names.I have a list of computer names but I need there IP address. If possible can the output be piped into a log file???

Well, here's command you could use to output a ping to a file:

ping PC_Name >> \path\filename.txt

You could do this from a batchfile but honestly. If this is a one time thing, it would take just as long to do each ping from the command line as to write the batchfile. Since you would have to write the ping commands out individually in the batchfile before you could use it you might as well just do it from the command line.

It's only in Japanese language, but with a little playing around, you should be able to figure out how to use it.
Basically, you can set a list of hostnames or IPs, and ping them a certain set of times (or indefinitely) under pretty finely-tunable conditions. You are also able to export all results to a csv or txt file when finished.
