ping and my ip address

Specs: windows xp prof, 192 mb intel celeron 500 mgz
i heard a mate saying something like he's gonna run ping in DOS command and will steal my ip u know how these lil homies are like bragging around as if they have somethin in their skull but is that possible and what is he going to do with my ip hack into my pc or what pls explain

He can't "steal" your IP using ping. Tell him to stop smoking that whacky weed, it's starting to melt his brain cells.

Ping is a tool that lets you test (in most cases) whether or not you have a working connection at the destination IP of the ping.
