I am trying to set up two computers to share files. One computer's runnig Win xp pro the other is runnig win 98. I have a netgear router that connects both the computers to the internet just fine but I cant seem to be able to share files and printers on them. I have also tried using xp pro on both of them but it didnt work so I formatted one of them and installed 98 on one of them. Can some one please tell me how to somehow enable file and printer sharing. I have run the networking wizard and made the floopy a lot of times but they just cant see each other.

Unless i don't understand your problem, just go to your networking section within control panel and add or install the service for printer and file sharing. Also make sure the properties for the folder or printer you want to share has sharing enabled.

Good Luck

yeah its pretty simple, first make sure both computers are under the same workgroup(make sure they both say the same thign for workgroup) then go to network properties and make sure netbeui protocal is set up for both
i think this should solve problems
im not sure how network settings are for xp though but give it a try
(also make sure file and print sharing is checked)
