Comment: Have 11 computers on a peer to peer Win98SE LAN. Want to limit access to the LAN on 1 computer. eg: one user would have full access, but other users no access. Could one user enter a password for full access and another password would allow no access to the LAN only to that particular computer's hard drive ? Thanks for any help.

Reply: (edit)Well, security and win9x don't go together (that's why NT is so much more expensive).

Reply: (edit)You can use pcrestrictor or some other free- ware tool and a home written script to do this. I have a multi-workgroup design that works well through pcrestrictor just by denying a few basic options and scripting to fill in the holes. If you need help, write back.

Reply: (edit)I am writing because I need help. I recently downloaded PCRestrictor and it did not work the way I wanted. Now I can't run ANY applications myself. I removed the software but it still locks me out. I tried to reinstall it again to change settings but it won't let me run Winzip. It won't let me run ANY .exe. How do I get rid of this thing?
