Hello,
I've got a thinkpad 701CS recently which runs with WIN 95. There are 2 slots for PCMCIA cards free, but what wifi PCMCIA cards can run on it ? Can i use usb pcmcia cards ?
Thanks.

Can i use usb pcmcia cards ?
There is no such thing. It is either a USB card or a PCMCIA card. It cant be both. Basically a PCMCIA card is a parallel device. A USB dongle is a serial device.
With a computer running Windows 95 you need to check whether is uses 16 bit or 32 bit card and whether they are 5v or 3.3v, Type I, Type II or Type III.
If the laptop has USB ports you can use one of those as bit width and voltages don't enter into it.

There are no usb ports on the PC, only pcmcia accesses for cards type I or II (documentation). But i don't know about 16 or 32 bits configuration. How can I verify ?Besides, I project to use pcmcia card as interface with usb peripherics. Is it possible with win95 os ?

Some usb support see here.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q24...See lenovo site for specs on that system otherwise you need to find the specs by looking at the hardware results in Win95. I'd susect 16 bit but if it says cardbus then it is 32 bit. A lot of good cards are dual 16 and 32, well they are really 16 but run in 32 bit slots.
They make pcmcia adapters for usb but most are cardbus.
The other way is to get a ethernet to usb gizmo.

Thanks. I'll try to follow your advices. For information, Thinkpad 701CS' s documentation says that the version supported by PCMCIA slots is 2.1, so pcmcia usb adapters can run with ?
What's means gizmo ? Can you precise ?

Usually there are special devices that tend to be used by companies trying to support odd stuff. They are expensive usually and not common at consumer tech stores. Use search tool for usb to ethernet or such terms. For example (I don't know this product) http://www.eltima.com/products/usb-...
