I want to connect my laptop (Windows 98 Second Edition) up to my desktop (Windows XP Proffessional) and have recently purchased a PCMCIA card. I've set it up and have gone through the network setup stuff on the desktop. But then when I load up the netsetup.exe file on my laptop, an error comes up saying that the network devices aren't set up properly (or something to that effect). I don't know what I could've missed. I set up the ip addresses and everything. Could someone tell me what I need to do?
