Not sure I understand "a new wireless pc"… do mean a new wifi router?

Your wife's computer (presumably a laptop) - is it part of a domain at work, or just a more simple peer-to-peer network?

Does your wifi router broadcast its SSID (the name that identifies it)?

Does your router use any level of security - at the least an access key?

Can you see the available wifi routers in your immediate locale on your wife's laptop; and is yours one of them?

What make/model laptop; what make router?

Have you changed the security settings? I'm wondering if you went up to a higher security setting that was outside the capabilities of your wife's computer.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

If it's a new router...? Might be it's broadcasting on a channel the laptop can't see? Some routers are set default 13... And that may not be visible (or usable) wherever this latop is located(as in not in use in whichever country)? Poster would need to check what channel the router is broadcasting on, and then set laptop wifi to the same channel...
