Hi.

I have 2 PCs and a wireless router.
PC 1 has a wireless adaptor and a LAN port.
PC 2 has a LAN port only.

I would like PC 2 to be able to access the internet via PC 1 by joining the PCs together with a crossover.

I've got this far:

PC 1:
Windows XP Pro
Wireless Config -

IP address: 10.0.0.15 (static)
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 10.0.0.2 (wireless router IP)
Preffered DNS: 10.0.0.2

LAN Config -

IP Address: 192.168.0.1
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway - None specified
Preffered DNS - None Specified

PC 2:
Windows 2000
LAN Config:

IP Address: 192.168.0.2
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway - 192.168.0.1
Preffered DNS - 192.168.0.1

Well, it doesn't work and I was wondering what I'm missing

Thanks

Nick

1. Disable the XP firewall on both machines.

2. Run the ICS wizard on the host PC.

3. Run the network setup wizard on the client, selecting "direct cable" connection.

4. if that doesn't work, pick up a $20 Wifi adapter, install it to the Win2K machine, and stop fooling around.
