Specs: Windows XP
i have the prblem with the crossover cable. i need to establish a network between two computers.one of them having a cable net. and i want to share the net with the second pc without the help of switch or hub. i establish the connection with the help of cross over cable.. is it possible that it works with the crossover cable or a straight cable

the pc connected to the internet has to have two network interfaces. One to the internet, one via xover cable to the downstream pc.

According to one poster here there are nics that support mdi/mdix [usually a router/switch standard that allows the use of either cable type] but I have yet to see one. Review your nics online specs to see if it supports mdix. If it does you can use a patch cable.
