Thanks for your respone. But I have to use all those devices because this is my exercise in school. I want connect with a remote computer through the phone line using 2 dial-up modem. And this is my first step in which I want to send a file to a remote computer without phone line.

You can't easily simulate a phone line. Phone modems can be configured using the AT commands. It may be possible, I used to know the commands like 20 years ago. I assume they are still embedded into the modems. Might be an issue with some soft modems.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

I tried to send a text file to another pc by Hyper Terminal before using AT command set. I used two-line wire to connect 2 modems but I can't get connection. Could you tell me more specific ( crosslink wire? configuration of modem?)

Should work if you use ms stuff. Shouldn't need to simulate a phone line but if all else fails. See this.

To simulate a phone line see this.

Thanks for your advice. I have succeeded to connect 2 modems by using Hyper Terminal. On the sending PC, I type ATD and on the receiving PC, type ATA; then the connection is established ( typing on 2 comuters). I am trying to use Visual Basic to send a ATD from sending PC and the other automatically answer ATA, but I can not still handle it. Does anybody have experience of this? Please help me!!!!
