I have a PC and a mac and would like
them to share the same internet.
This is what i have....1. Liksys wireless USB net. Adapter
2. Gateway PC
3. Imac DV (with airport card)
4. Apple Basestation
-------------------
Note: The Mac works on the network but
the PC can't find the basestation.
I heard that you could use a basestation
with a PC, so why is it not working?!All help is wanted
Thanks

If you'r using a broadband Internet connection (cable or DSL) then any Internet sharing router, like a Linksys, Netgear, or DLink, will let them share the Internet connection. They are compatable with any device that uses TCPIP and Cat5 cabeling.

What sort of basestation is it? I assume it's AIRPORT, but is it the one ethernet plug version or the two plug version? I have the one plug version, but need a hub/router to get it properly connected.
Also, since you don't mention high speed devices (cable modem, dsl modem, etc) I must assume you are connecting to the internet via dial-up, but from which machine, PC or MAC? Or are you trying to use the airport basestation for this?
You state the PC can't find the basestation. It would need to be plugged into the basestation via cable, since you do not mention an airport-like card for it. How are you attempting to find it? If it's configured correctly you should be able to 'ping' it but not much else from the PC.
need more info to help.
Mike

Mike-
I am having a similar problem. I have Windows XP Home Ed. on my desktop and a physical CAT5 connection to a Mac system with the hub. XP tells me that the network adapter is not connected. Not sure what else to do - your wisdom would be much appreciated after two weeks of frustration!-Cristian
