Password protect network/shared folders?

Specs: Windows XP
I am trying to password protect some folders on the server that are networked/shared, visable to all users. I went through this tutorial but i am not savy enough to figure out the part about UNC path \\<ServerName>\<ShareName> ... Please help. Thanks

right click on the folders ,left click on sharing security

I would never enable the Guest account for use with File/Share access.

If you set the permissions properly, and grant permissions only to those who need them, you don't need to password protect the folder/files.

Passwords on folders went out with Windows 98/ME. If you want to do it correctly you need 3rd party software.

Reason MS removed this is due to its lack of security. Just like that article using the guest account makes your server unsecure.

Learn to use permissions correctly and you can protect your data.
