I have a WGR614 Netgear router. I reloaded the drivers, among other issues, and now I can't log onto the internet. My password is not accepted and I don't know how to access the internet. The factory default password on the Netgear site doesn't work. I have a desktop and a laptop, so I am afraid to reset the router. Should I do that? Or, can I access the admin site and change my password? Or, what do I do? Thanks!

If you don't know/remember the password you set on the router your only option is to reset the router to factory defaults so you can use the default admin/password combo to get access to it. You do get the web interface correct?

Hi Wanderer, I do remember the password, but it suddenly doesn't work. The factory defaults don't work either. So if I reset the router, does that mean that I simply push the router button off for 30 seconds and turn it back on or do I have to reset all of the isp numbers and so forth? If so where do I find all the info? I am getting connected other places, just not on my network at home. I have never reset a router, so I don't want to lose my desktop internet connection for a long period if I don't know what to do. The laptop is not essential, the desktop is. Thanks.

Just to be clear you put into IE or firefox your gateway ip and you are presented with the netgear web page asking for name and password, correct? You get this screen?
